Open Campus Day 2022 at ISTA

Fire & Ice Experimente Show – für Kinder und Erwachsene

On June 25, the Open Campus took place on the ISTA campus within the 100 Jahre Niederösterreich celebration. Around 1,800 visitors came and enjoyed their time together. The Science Slamers entertained us with flash talks and Daniel Jirovec from the Katsaros group contributed an essential part to the Fire & Ice Experiment Show. The crews of the PCF, the LSF, and the members of the Freunberger, Pietrzak, Kicheva, Lemeshko, Hof, Sixt, and Wojtan groups presented their work to our visitors in the science exhibition. Finally, our tour hosts and guides showed approximately 300 visitors around the campus, to the Sixt, Hippenmeyer, Novarino, Palacci, and Goodrich labs; to PCF, OIF, IT, NMR, EMF, LSF, and to other highlights of the institute.

Open Campus Day was a big success on ISTA’s social media channels, too. To present our Open Campus Day online, we posted 46 stories on Instagram on the day itself with a total of 19,143 views. If you take into account the previous posts promoting the Open Campus, it’s even over 21,000 views. We also gained 64 new followers on ISTA’s Instagram page only that day. In addition, the influencers Martin Moder from the Science Busters (69.1 k followers) and Liliana Klein (53.3 k followers) reported on their pages.
